“I have walked that long road to freedom.I have tried not to falter;I have made missteps along the way.But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.I have taken a moment here to rest,to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me,to look back on the distance I have come. But I can only rest for a moment, for with freedom come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not ended.” N.Mandela

An Italian immigrant story
1907 - Italian Immigrant history:(english) "She told him, 'I do not want to raise my children in this country any longer. I don't want no wars. I don't want no poverty. I want to go... to the United States. You work over there. The children will work over there. And at least we'll eat"
Lei gli disse, “Non voglio più crescere i miei bambini in questa nazione. Io non voglio la guerra. Io non voglio la povertà. Io voglio venire…negli Stati Uniti. Tu lavori già là. I bambini lavoreranno là. E mal che vada, noi mangeremo.”
Rocco Morelli, un immigrante italiano del 1907. (italian)

This was my "Nonno" and he was great man! The first thing he did was become a Citizen. He worked hard every day, we fought for this country in WWII, he raised his sons to be proud Americans. His journey to America was not easy, he was detained in a cell on Ellis Island, compared to the cell he and his sibling's were put in, it was not the lap of luxury they have today.
